Arielle Loren first thought of directing and producing “The Bi-deology Project” after an enlightening “friendship” with a self-identified “bisexual” man who was sleeping with men while dating her. After discussing her experience with other self-identified heterosexual women in the New York area, she found that the experience not only bewildered most, but also created an important conversation about sexuality, “heterosexual” relationships between men and women, and dating preferences. At New York University, she produced a senior thesis, focusing on the African-American female perspective, surrounding the topic entitled, “Proper Heterosexism: African-American Female Voices in the Media on African-American Male Bisexuality and the Down Low.” She hopes that The Bi-deology Project will bring more women from all backgrounds into the conversation and create a tool for women in mixed orientation relationships.
